HI everybody
I was looking at old posts on this forum and found some people asking, if there is an add on that gives you the possibility to set a release date of your news.

I found this a quite a good idea and could be useful to a few people (hope so)

This isn't a FINAL release YET so do not use on Publish server.

Would be nice if somebody could make some tests on it and report them to me, so I can fix them !!

I don't understand the meaning of release date of news.

euhm this add on gives you the possibility to set a release date to your news.

for example you write a new News and want it to be released the 08/08/08.
this news wont be displayed untill the 08/08/08, Additional setting i have added too is a Exiration date you can set a date were the news wont be displayed.

Ok, now i understand what you mean.
I didn't use it or test it, but going through the code you wrote, and here are couple more suggestions:
1. I think it's better to set this with date and time, and not just the date. It will be very helpful for websites that showing open sale and close sale for example.
2. you made there a check for the time now vs. the release date, but you made it with a difference for only 1 hour (hardcoded 3600 secs), I think it would be better to use the GMT configuration of the website, i'm using +8HOURS for example, so it will be wrong time release.

euhm yes this could be additional setting i will have a look!
i don't think it will be a big modification because I set my Time&date in Timestamp (better for database, ect.)
I will give a try an release this asap.

ok so this is the latest release I have tested hopefully everything!
