Alpha template customization
#post11256
Greetings!

I am trying out MemHT and I'm finding
it a good CMS.
I have tried changing the Alpha template
but it seems like am having problem with
changing the margin colors at the side.
Could somebody guide me as to where to
change the colors/image of the sides?
I was already successful in changing the
header & footer, etc., except the sides.
Thanks in advance and more power!

The template is straight forward anyone with CSS and HTML can modify it as needed remember to give credits to the original owners of the template as the code is there you just made modifications to it.

Most of the templates are CSS based so modify the CSS files will help you modify whatever you want. You will need to change the images to suit the needs of your new colors.

If you remove the bottom copyright chances are your forum posts will be ignored and you will be put onto the black list, so please don't be lame and remove the copyright.

Greetings!

Thanks for those who tried to reply.
It's sad though that some always thinks
everyone always acts whatever they imagine
others would.
I'm well aware of the word respect. To be
specific I know the context of respect for
the tremendous effort of the developer of
this great CMS. It would be great if people
learn to respect each one in the context
of assumption. Dude this is the definitive
use of language where we try to talk it out
in a humanistic tone. But I do understand
why the attitude. Nevertheless I expressed
my sadness, it now gone from my feelings
already. No problem. Now I'd just like us
to be objective about things. To avoid
stereotyping and to better understand,
we ask people. That's the most sensible
approach I think would be fair for anyone.
It's plain unfair to be always believing
everything you suspect is true especially
with the behavior of others.

Hope everyone would understand. Peace... Smile

Now, about my question...

I've tried changing the images of the template
but there's some bars specifically the one
that appears as side margins in the alpha
template that has no image. Am thinking it might be a css thing. It would be great if
someone could guide me as to where it is.
Thanks and peace!

No one is going to take time to help you do the code for you, you have to do it yourself. I am too bust to sit down and modify the code to fit your needs. I believe Mem gave you some pointers which from the looks of it you didn't even try to do as he said. People tend to take things for granted this CMS is done for free so don't expect people to jump off a cliff to help you.

The images are transparent, so loading it up in a normal photo editing program wont show them, you must open them in either Gimp if your poor or Photoshop if you like ti buy the expensive stuff or pirate software.

chris i was not askin for someone to do the code for me. my post clearly states if somebody could guide me and what i meant if someone has just gone over the process of knowing the alpha template perhaps they could share their ideas. I tried to do it but sometimes it just sometimes won't dawn on me. Am not as skilled as you are though. I understand that I can't expect people to jump off a cliff to help me. I just believe in the use of this forum though so peace. I just found out the images are not transparent as you said. There were simply no images on those areas and what was showing thru was css background color. Thanks for your reply!
More power to all of us and to MemHT! Smile
