Why? Because the next version of memht, the permissions of users will be completely changed.
This addon uses many permissions, it makes no sense to me now create the addon, and in the next version have to rewrite the whole addon again.
I chose to wait for the new version to create the addon.
I think u can understand the reasons. |

This is my dream feature I wanted so much.. but  .. Hopefully, Paulo has just 'paused' the work, not 'stopped' ;-)
However one question:- how is the CPU load with this addon ? Is it like google's blog, or WP MU ? My experience with WordPress Multi User was, it was too process consuming with increasing new blogs (i.e. with each new blog). With 100+ users, my hosting guys said, they could not permit that (WPMU) script to run on their server just cuz it was consuming too many process (30 process is their limit I guess, hosting - bluehost). So finally i had to give up that project cuz i could not afford dedicated server.
So please consider this factor as well.. Though I am not aware of the implementation details of this userBlog addon, just sharing my experience with WordPress MU.

MemHT is pretty optimized, but every kind of "multi" script could create problems because it would be used by many people at once, generating high traffic. This means that if you have 50 blogs it's ok, 100 is ok, 200 is not ok and you should buy something more than a shared hosting Edited: 11/10/2008 08:39 |

Since MemHT 4.0.1 is out now. May we know the status of this addon? Any chance of you resuming this ?

Re: Future addon Blog Users | #post15335 | MAybe Paulo will be waiting till memht5 because this add on is quite a big one, and requires some time and again if he creates this add on for 4.0.1 and memht 5 will be out for January (just an example) he would have to make some big Mods on this add on.
and to create this add on for only 3month and then do the work again isn't very usefull!
this is my opinion don't know what paulo will do !
