Error/Problem:

When new users login, they are prompted with a waiting PM (Welcome PM), but when they follow the link and go to the PM page, there are no PM's listed. So each time they go back to Home, they are re-prompted again.

Besides the Welcome PM not working, regular use of PM between users works fine.

Delete the content of the welcome PM (in the text editor code mode) and then check if welcome pm's alerts are shown.

ok. Once text removed, problem goes away for new users. This means the Welcome PM function cannot be used at this time. Will it be fixed?

The welcome PM (usually) works fine, i'm trying to understand why it doesn't work.

Restore the welcome pm, register a new fake user and check the created pm in the database. Check if all fields are correct (username especially)

Username is correctly saved in the database, but I noticed all welcome PM messages are saved in the memht_pvtmsg table and the table called memht_pvtmsg_welcome is empty and has no indexes. Is this behavior expected?

Welcome pm's configuration is set in memht_config, there should be 3 fields in the table

in that case I don't know why my welcome PM's aren't showing up on the PM page.

I will disable this feature for now until there's a fix.
