Disable means disable, doesn't means delete.
Admincp > Blocks > Edit the block > Enabled: No |

This means
1) Open phpMyAdmin > Export > Select All > Save
2) Download ALL files from your ftp in your hard drive in a folder called Backup_2010.01.11 |
