Is there an easy way to transfer my entire site?
#post8432
I basically need to move everything over to a new domain I have purchased. I have over 1000 files on my current site so I don't want to lose them. I've done the backup database thing and tried importing the .spl file with phpadmin but it won't import.

Just wondering what I need to do to make this as easy as possible? Smile

Memht is a different CMS so most others wont be compatible with memht, I am not sure but mem is working on a converting tool might wait and see if your current CMS is included in that. My old site had Vbulletin which expires in dec which I just tossed and also some themes and vbportal so I hear you heh

If it's MemHT based site, just backup files and upload them in your new ftp. The same with the SQL, export the database and import it in the new one.

Of course you'll have to change mysql connection data in inc_config.php

Yes, I intend to transfer my old site (in my signature) to a new one and I want to take everything with me.

I'll let you know how I go on.

Ok, I imported the db to my new server but now all of the files contained in it are pointing towards my old site. Is there an easy way to update them to my new site or would I have to do it manually? :s
