Small but interesting news in this release: One level subforums, new pagination system, new MyLinks page (almost a web directory now), automatic bot detector in the security tracking page, html syntax cleaner that should make the MemHT Portal core almost completelly HTML 4.01 Transitional valid and, at least, an enhancement of the unique visitors counter in statistics.

3.6.5 and the record

I wanted to say Thank you to all MemHT users and share a small news... In only 7 days (from the beginning of Feb), MemHT Portal 3.6.5 has been downloaded more than 4000 times (500+ from the MemHT.com downloads page)... this is a new record.

I hope to have a lot of other occasions to do this again!

The biggest news in this release is the new template engine (RainTPL).
It uses pure html files, very easy to use. Of course PHP is still usable within the template files, so they are still 100% customizable.
Old template are no more compatible, but the conversion is very simple (usually not more than 10 minutes per template, no PHP knowledge is required).

The final 3.6.0 version is arrived.

Finally MemHT Portal, known as CMS, offers a valid solution for Bloggers: This release contains a full blog addon with posts, comments, categories, archive etc.

The other big news is the new installer and the (almost) universal updater engine, indeed MemHT Portal is no more released in two version (Full and Update).

The installer will permit to configure MemHT Portal from the beginning: CMS or Blog. Those two configurations differ only in the initial installed template, addons and blocks. Note: Indipendently of the choise, all features will be available and the portal will be 100% customizable, there aren't substantial differences.

The updater wizard will permit to update all versions (at least 2.9) to the last released one (3.6.0 in this case) very easily

This is the last MemHT Portal release of the year....
It has been finished in 20 days and contains a lot of news.

Most important are: The feed aggregator (It permit to add new articles, guides or news in the site, retrieving the content from external rss feeds), CronJobs, the new rate and the comments system

MemHT Portal 3.4.5

After only two weeks from the release of the 3.4 version, i've decided to publish MemHT Portal 3.4.5.
It's a minor release, indeed it contains a low number of changes, but they seriously affect the cms speed and code optimization.

The most important modification concerns the prototype framework, now opened only when needed. This lowers the size of the biggest part of pages up to 40% (that as we all know means faster pages and less bandwidth consumption).

Among the other news, stands out the template engine enhancement. Now, it supports different structures and styles for each blocks side.
